1   Overview

LumInsight Provisioning Tool is the required tool for provisioning a LumInsight-based control network.  It adds control devices to the Echelon SmartServer prior to the system becoming managed by LumInsight.

3      Release Identification

This ReadMe document applies to the 1.10.008 release of LumInsight Provisioning Tool.  You can verify that you have this release by starting the Programs and Features control panel, and checking the Version number of LumInsight Provisioning Tool.

4      System Requirements

Following are the system requirements for computers running LumInsight Provisioning Tool:

·         MicrosoftÒ Windows Server 2012 (64-bit), Windows 10 (64-bit and 32-bit), Windows 8.1 (64-bit and 32-bit), and Windows 7 (64-bit and 32-bit).

·        500 MHz processor or faster (2 GHz or faster processor recommended).

·         2 GB or more of free disk space. 

·         2 GB RAM minimum.

·         1,024 x 768 or higher resolution display.

5      Installing LumInsight Provisioning Tool 1.10

You can update any prior release of LumInsight Provisioning Tool to LumInsight Provisioning Tool 1.10 by installing the LumInsight Provisioning Tool download image.  Prior releases are listed in the table in the Release Identification section above. 

Note that if you upgrade to 1.10 from 1.00, then you may observe that certain object names that were permitted in 1.00 are no longer permitted in 1.10. For example, special characters other than underscore and hyphen are not allowed. Also, names are now limited in length.

You must also update any SmartServers used with LumInsight Provisioning Tool to the latest OLS version.  The image and instructions can be found here:  http://www.echelon.com/software-downloads?ele=153-0595-01A

8   Known Problems and Workarounds

8.1 Hidden Dialogs

In some cases, the "sync" operation will result in a reboot dialog that ends up hidden behind other dialogs. The workaround is to minimize all top level windows until the reboot dialog appears.

8.2 Device Count Limitations

Certain operations such as assigning devices to a group controller and binding devices to a TOS device are limited to 150 devices.
