1     Introduction

The Lumewave Outdoor Lighting System (OLS) Framework is a SmartServer system image for the SmartServer Professional Edition power line segment controller used in outdoor lighting systems managed with the LumInsight configuration management system (CMS).  It is built on SmartServer 2.2 Service Pack 3 (Release 4.07.18) and includes applications and resources specific to the LumInsight CMS.  This image must be installed on a SmartServer segment controller before you provision the SmartServer segment controller with the LumInsight Provisioning Tool.

4      System Requirements

This section lists the system requirements to deploy the OLS Framework to a SmartServer segment controller.

·       A power line SmartServer Professional Edition, Model 72103R-440 or 720103R-460

·       A computer running Microsoft Windows 10, Windows 8.1, or Windows 7, with a minimum of 100MB free disk space, configured to connect to the SmartServer segment controller through an IP network as described in the Connecting to the SmartServer in the SmartServer 2.2 Users Guide

·       The ability to connect to the SmartServer console interface using a serial or Telnet connected terminal emulator application such as putty.exe or teraterm.exe

·       An FTP client application such as filezilla.exe or coreftp.exe

5      Image Installation

To install the OLS Framework on a SmartServer segment controller, follow these steps:

1.     Connect to the SmartServer console using a serial or Telnet connection to a terminal emulator application.  See Appendix B of the SmartServer 2.2 Users Guide for information on how to connect to the SmartServer console.

2.     At the console prompt type: format <ENTER>

3.     Unzip the OLS Framework distribution archive file to a folder on your computer.

4.     Starting in the OLS_Framework 1.0.12 folder created in step 3; copy the folder structure to the SmartServer root folder using your FTP client.  You are copying the  config, data, lonWorks, modules, and web folders to the SmartServer root, as well as the files iLonSystem and WebParams.dat files.  Select the binary file transfer mode in your FTP client to move the files to the SmartServer segment controller because some FTP clients can make wrong choices when configured to automatically select the transfer mode.

5.     Once the FTP file transfer has completed, open the SmartServer console and type factorydefault keepipaddrs<ENTER>

6.     The previous step restores the OLS Framework starting configuration and reboots the SmartServer segment controller.  When the reboot completes, the SmartServer segment controller will be ready for use by the LumInsight Provisioning Tool.
