You can upgrade previous versions of i.LON Vision 2.0 to i.LON Vision 2.0 SR2 by installing SmartServer 2.0 SR2 software from a SmartServer 2.0 SR2 DVD or from a downloaded provided by Echelon Corporation. You can update a prior version of the SmartServer 2.0 software to SR2 by downloading and installing SmartServer 2.0 SP2. SmartServer 2.0 SP2 is available as a free download at www.echelon.com/smartserver but can only be installed on a computer with a prior release of the SmartServer 2.0 software. To upgrade the i.LON 100 e3 Plus or SmartServer 1.0 software, you can purchase a license for the SmartServer 2.0 Software and the software will be provided to you as a software download. To upgrade to SmartServer 2.0 SR2 or SP2, follow these steps:
· If you are installing SmartServer 2.0 SR2 from a SmartServer 2.0 SR2 DVD, insert the DVD into your DVD drive. If your computer does not have a DVD drive, insert the Echelon SmartServer 2.0 SR2 DVD on a network accessible computer that has a DVD drive and copy the files on the DVD to a shared network drive. If the SmartServer 2.0 SR2 setup application does not start immediately, open the setup.exe file on the root directory of the Echelon SmartServer 2.0 SR2 DVD.
If you are installing SmartServer 2.0 SR2 or SP2 from a file that you downloaded from the Echelon website, extract all the files from the download file to a C:\SmartServer directory using a zip utility, and then open the setup.exe file in the SmartServer directory.
WARNING: On some computers, the setup application will not start if you extract the files to your user directory. Workaround: Extract the files to a C:\SmartServer directory, and then run the setup application. (58181)
1. The Echelon i.LON SmartServer 2.0 SR2 setup application main menu appears.
· Click Install Products. The Install Products dialog appears.
· Click Echelon i.LON Vision SmartServer 2.0 SR2. The Echelon i.LON Vision SmartServer 2.0 SR2 installer appears.
· Follow the steps of the installation wizard. The installation will automatically upgrade the existing i.LON Vision software installation on your computer to Echelon i.LON Vision SmartServer 2.0 SR2. See Chapter 1 of the i.LON Vision 2.0 User’s Guide for more information on installing the i.LON Vision 2.0 SR2 software.

This section describes known problems and their workarounds for this release. Numbers in parentheses at the end of the descriptions are Echelon's internal problem tracking IDs.
The value of a local preset must match the format of the data point (for example, 100.0 for a SNVT_switch.value data point) or the local preset will not work. Workaround: Specify a valid value for the data point or data point field when you create a local preset. (54530)
If you move a preset up or down the list in the Image Swapper, you cannot correctly change images. Workaround: Close and reopen the dialog after you move a preset. (57593)
If you add a navigation tree to a page that is not on a layer, it does not display correctly. Workaround: Always use a layer when inserting a navigation tree. (57091)
If you add an i.LON Vision object to a custom Web page, leave it in the default position in the upper left-hand corner of the Web page, publish the Web page, edit the Web page, and immediately add a new i.LON Vision object, the new object’s layer will be placed within the first object’s layer, and you cannot select the inner layer. Workaround: Deselect the new object by clicking anywhere in the Web page, re-select the new object, and then move the layer to the desired location. (54631)
You cannot set size, alignment, cell style, or text wrap properties for entire table rows or columns. Workaround: Select properties for each cell individually. (57594)
This section describes updates to the documentation.
The datapoint selector for custom JavaScript objects parses the JavaScript code and assigns datapoints to keys and assigns custom arguments. To assign a datapoint to a key, include an ELON_DP_KEY:<keyName> expression in your JavaScript code. For example, “ELON_DP_KEY:Background” means the Background key is available as a datapoint key. To create a custom argument, include an ELON_CUSTOM_ARGS=[“<argName>”,”<argName>”,…] statement in your JavaScript code. For example “ELON_CUSTOM_ARGS=[“BackgroundColor_ON”,”BackgroundColor_OFF”]” means that BackgroundColor_ON and BackgroundColor_OFF are available as arguments for customization. (53258)
// Demonstrate how to implement a Custom Javascript Object subscribed to several DPs
// that trigger distinct, distinguishable functions
// The string in square brackets must be identical to the file name
Echelon.CustomJavascript["EchelonMultiDpExample"] = function(argObj){
this.update = {
// This function gets handed in the DP that was assigned to the key "Background" in i.LON Vision
// and toggles the background color depending on the value of this DP
"ELON_DP_KEY:Background": function(type, item){
if(item.UCPTvalue.length<2) m_span.innerHTML="Use DP with ValueDefs ON and OFF";
val = item.UCPTvalue[1].get();
m_span.style.backgroundColor = m_argObj.customArgs["BackgroundColor_"+val];
},
// This function gets handed in the DP that was assigned to the key "Value" in i.LON Vision
// and displays the value of this DP
"ELON_DP_KEY:Value": function(type, item){
if(item.UCPTvalue.length<2) m_span.innerHTML="Use DP with ValueDefs ON and OFF";
m_span.innerHTML=item.UCPTvalue[1].get();
}
}
var m_span = argObj.domObj.appendChild(document.createElement("span"));
var m_argObj = argObj;
// this line of code tells i.LON Vision about the available customization parameters
this.ELON_CUSTOM_ARGS=["BackgroundColor_ON", "BackgroundColor_OFF"];
};
You can hide or show datapoint names globally within i.LON Vision. To control datapoint name display, open the i.LON Vision View menu and set or clear the Show Object Names checkbox. (57418)
You can move a layer by clicking the moving icon for the layer, and then use the arrow keys move the selected layer. (57196)
