This update applies to LNS Server/Turbo Edition with Service Pack 7 (Release 3.27.014, June 2010).  To verify that you have this release on your computer, follow one of the following procedures:

·         For Windows 7 and Windows Vista, click the Start button, type Programs and Features in the Search box, press ENTER to open Programs and Features, and then click Echelon LNS Server.  If the Version column is not displayed, right click the list header, select More, and then select Version to add the Version column.

·         For Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, or Windows Server 2000, open Add or Remove Programs in Windows Control Panel, and then click Echelon LNS Server.  Click the Click Here for Support Information link.

Installing this update will not update the Version number displayed in the Programs and Features entry.

You can determine if you have LNS Server 3.2 SP7 (Release 3.27.014, June 2010) or LNS Server 3.2 SP7 Update 1 (Release 3.27.102, August 2012) installed by using Windows Explorer to examine the file versions of the two files included in this update under your LonWorks directory (which is C:\LonWorks or C:\Program Files (x86)\LonWorks by default).  The following table lists the two files, the LNS Server 3.2 SP7 file versions for each, and the LNS Server 3.2 SP7 Update 1 file versions for each.

4     Updating to LNS Server 3.2 SP7 Update 1

You can apply Update 1 only to the LNS Server/Turbo Edition with Service Pack 7.  This update will not work with, and should not be applied to, any previous or future LNS Server releases.  To update previous releases of the LNS Server/Turbo Edition, you must first install LNS Server/Turbo Edition Service Pack 7, which you can download from www.echelon.com/downloads.

To apply Update 1 to LNS Server/Turbo Edition with Service Pack 7, follow these steps:

1.      Shut down all LNS applications, including LNS enabled Windows services.  LNS enabled Windows services are LNS applications that are being run under the Windows Service Manager as background processes.  Examples from Echelon include the LNS Server application and the LNS DDE Server.  Third party examples are typically HMI drivers for HMI workstation software products.

2.      Extract all the files from the Update 1 zip archive into the LonWorks bin directory on your computer.  The LonWorks directory is C:\LonWorks or C:\Program Files (x86)\LonWorks by default.

3.      If prompted by Windows to confirm overwriting existing file, click Yes.

5     Redistributing LNS Server 3.2 SP7 Update 1

This update will not modify the LNS Server redistributable components of an installation of the LNS Redistribution Kit/Turbo Edition (RDK) with Service Pack 7.  To redistribute an LNS Server/Turbo Edition with SP7 Update 1, your users must manually apply the Update 1 files following an installation of LNS Server 3.2 with SP7 created by the RDK.  Alternatively, you can add the files included in Update 1 to an external installer.  In this case, the external installer must first ensure that a compatible version of LNS Server is actually installed before overwriting the files with files from Update 1 (see Release Identification above).

6     Changes in LNS Server 3.2 SP7 Update 1

The following problems have been fixed in LNS Server 3.2 SP7 Update 1.  Numbers in parentheses at the end of the problem descriptions are Echelon's internal problem tracking IDs.

·         Lightweight client monitoring sometimes fails when an LNS Server serves more than one open network.  (27000)

·         Closing a lightweight client can crash the LNS Server.  (59393, 63735)

·         The DataPoint.FieldCounts property for NV array elements beyond the first reports an incorrect value.  (60062)

·         Fixes and improvements related to database upgrade, validation, and repair.  (57738, 57981, 63695, 64693)
