The images contained in this ZIP file provide a method for re-initializing Neuron® 3150® Chip or 3150 Smart Transceiver EEPROM.

A Neuron device typically initializes its EEPROM once for a given firmware image.  It is possible to force this process to occur again with the same firmware image, resetting the Neuron 3150 Chip or 3150 Smart Transceiver to the blank state (the initial state of EEPROM on a newly manufactured Neuron Chip or Smart Transceiver), using a special application image known as the "EEBLANK image".

To reset the chip's state, program the EEBLANK image into a memory chip and power up the device with this memory chip in place of the normal firmware. For a short period, the service LED will flash, then it will change to full on, indicating that the chip has been returned to the blank state. The next time any memory created from an exported firmware file is placed in the device, the on-chip EEPROM will again be initialized from the special data area in the firmware.

The version of the EEBLANK image that you should use for the initialization process depends upon the input clock speed of the device, as follows:

eeb20000.nri - 20 MHz

eeb10000.nri - 10 MHz

eeb06554.nri - 6.554 MHz

eeb05000.nri - 5.0 MHz

eeb03277.nri - 3.277 MHz

eeb02500.nri - 2.5 MHz

eeb01250.nri - 1.25 MHz

eeb00625.nri - 0.625 MHz

If you are using an input clock between two of these clock rates, you should select the next slower version of the EEBLANK image.
